We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest team member, Christina Fundingsland, Physician Assistant. As our practice grows, Dr. Tway decided to bring on another provider to ensure our patients continue to get excellent cardiovascular care. We are confident that Christina’s energy and compassion will make her an asset to our practice.
Christina, her husband, David, and their two pups, Marley and Koda, just moved here from across the country. Christina has been working as PA in Manhattan, New York for the past two years. When her clinic was shut down from COVID-19, Christina volunteered to work on the front lines of the COVID response in Coney Island. For 6 weeks, Christina, alongside medical professionals from all over the country, worked out of a tent at Coney Island ER treating COVID patients. We are so grateful for her service!
Christina is no stranger to the central coast as she grew up in Lompoc with her parents and two brothers. She went to PA school at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and has been living out of state ever since. Her husband is also from the central coast and they have been looking for the right opportunity to move back to be closer to their families and enjoy all the central coast has to offer!
Christina found that right opportunity when she saw that Dr. Tway was looking for a PA. She has been interested in cardiology since her senior year of high school. Getting hired by a cardiology practice in San Luis Obispo was just the opportunity Christina and David needed to move back home.
In her spare time, Christina loves going on adventures with David and their dogs. She enjoys spending time outdoors, photography, and trying new places to eat. She is an avid runner and goes on runs most days. Next time you are in the practice, make sure to say “Hi” to Christina and welcome her back to the central coast!
